11.0 Registration / Drop / Withdrawal
11.1 All Bridging students must register for the
relevant LE and/or LQ language proficiency courses every semester until they
fulfill the language requirements of the programme
11.2 Students
are allowed to add courses during the add and drop period.
11.3 Students
are not allowed to drop or withdraw from language proficiency courses but for
the bridging courses they may do so, provided they maintain the minimum
workload upon approval of the respective kulliyyah.
11.4 The
withdrawal fee is RM150 per course (during the 5th -10th
week) and RM 250 per course (11th -13th week).
12.0 Workload
12.1 Minimum
12.1.1 The
minimum workload for bridging students will be three (3) courses per semester
including university required courses.
12.2 Maximum
12.2.1 Students are allowed
to take a maximum of five (5) courses per semester.
13.0 Progression of Study
13.1 The CGPA requirement for progression from one
semester to another shall be at least 2.00
14.0 Repeat of failed courses
14.1 A student is allowed to repeat a bridging
course only once.
15.0 Good Academic
Standing
15.1
A student is on good academic standing if he maintains a CGPA of 2.0 or better.
15.2
For a student who registers a combination of proficiency language courses and
programme required courses will have his academic status determined only after
he has attempted at least nine (9) credit hours of the programme required
courses.
16.0 Academic
Probation
16.1 A student may be allowed to be on probation when he fails
to earn a CGPA of 2.00 or better but not less than 1.67 at the end of the
semester, on condition that:-
16.1.1 He
carries a workload of not more than 15 credit hours in
the following semester.
17.0 Academic Dismissal
17.1 A student shall
be dismissed from the University if:
17.1.1 he receives a CGPA of less than
1.67 or
17.1.2 he
fails to earn a CGPA of 2.00 or better
while on
probationary status or
17.1.3 he
fails a course (with a grade of “F” or “Y”) on the
second attempt or
17.1.4 he
fails (with a grade of “F” or “Y”) in more than 1
Kulliyyah
course and the CGPA ia in the range of
1.67
< CGPA < 2.00.
17.1.5 he
receives a 1.67 < CGPA < 2.00 for the second
time which is non-consecutive during his
period of
studies.
17.2
The University also reserves the right to bar,
suspend or dismiss any student from the University or any of its classes
whenever, in the interest of the University, such action is deemed advisable.
18.0 Minimum CGPA Requirements Into Undergraduate
Programme
18.1 The minimum CGPA requirements for admission
into undergraduate programme are as follows:

19.0 Failure
to Meet the Minimum CGPA Requirements
19.1 Students who failed to meet the minimum CGPA
requirements into the undergraduate programme concerned but obtained a CGPA of
2.0 or above, are allowed to repeat the passing bridging courses once to make
up the grade provided that the total period of study does not exceed 2 ½ years.
19.2 The
better grade of the two attempts will be used in the computation of CGPA.
19.3 During the repeat semester students will be
allowed to do a maximum of three (3) courses including university required
courses.
19.4 In the event of
Change of Programme, bridging student will
not be allowed to repeat
20.0 Minimum Language Requirements Into
Undergraduate Programme
20.1 Students of all kulliyyahs with the exception of
BENL, BARB and BIRKH have to obtain Band 6.0 in the EPT or its equivalent TOEFL or IELTS scores as an admission
requirement into all kulliyyahs.
20.2 BENL
students must obtain a minimum of Band 6.5 in the EPT.
20.3 BARB and BIRKH students must
obtain a minimum of band
5.5 in the EPT and band 6.0 in the APT (CELPAD).
20.4 LLB_S students must obtain a
minimum of band 6.0 in the
EPT and APT.
20.5 IRK and BARB
programmes have to fulfill the APT with Band
6.0 and
pass EPT Core LE 0520 as an admission
requirement. The LE 0620 (SFC : LSRW) course is a
graduation requirement
21.0 Period of study
21.1 The actual duration of study depends on the
placement level based on the English Placement Test and Qualifying Test.
However, students shall be allowed to spend a maximum of two and a half (2 ½) years
to complete the bridging programme (5 regular and 2 short semesters).
22.0 Termination
of Studies
22.1 A student shall be terminated from his studies
if he:
(i) Fail to register without any valid reason(s)
in a particular semester, or
(ii) Exhausted his study period
23.0 READMISSION
23.1 No readmission is allowed.
24.0 Fresh
Admission
24.1 Students may apply for fresh admission into
another programme that they have not attempted before, and subject to meeting
the minimum entry requirement of the programme applied for.
25.0 Leave of Absence
25.1 Students may apply for leave of absence for a
maximum period of two regular semesters. The application will have to be
approved by the Dean/Director of the Kulliyyah and the decision is to be reported
to the Senate.
25.2 Student who wishes to spend a period of time
away from University may request a leave of absence. In order to be considered
for such leave, a student must submit a letter to the Dean of the Kulliyyah
stating his reasons for the request and the length of leave desired.
25.3
A student may request an extension of his
leave of absence by writing to the Dean/Director of the Kulliyyah for further
approval by the Kulliyyah of Board Appeals.
